    Accessibility Statement

    Last updated: February 2026

    1. Our Commitment

Sapling is a public-interest tool, so it needs to work for people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification and reduced-motion settings. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

    2. What We Have Built In

    • Semantic headings and landmark regions on every page, with one main heading per page.
    • Full keyboard operation of the search, property selection and report flow, with visible focus indicators.
    • Descriptive text alternatives for images and accessible names for icon-only controls.
    • Text and interface colours checked for contrast against their backgrounds.
    • Animations that shorten or stop when your device requests reduced motion.
    • Layouts that reflow on small screens and tolerate zoom up to 200 per cent.

    3. Known Limitations

Some EPC data is returned exactly as filed on the government register, including tables and wording we do not control. Exported PDF reports may be less richly tagged than the on-screen version. We are working on both.

    4. Alternative Formats

If a page or report is not usable for you, email info@saplingepc.co.uk with the address or page concerned and we will supply the information in an accessible format.

    5. Feedback and Escalation

We welcome accessibility reports and aim to respond within two working days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service, which advises on accessibility obligations in the United Kingdom.
